Tip: Nifty Business Cards
Problem: People sometimes are out of business cards when you want to follow up from your first meeting. Without a card, they may write their contact information on the back of an envelope or a paper napkin. Solution: Carry blank business cards I call "My Other Card". What's this? It's a low-cost item with space for basic information. See the card I use, just below. Basic information below MY OTHER CARD. MY NAME EMAIL Tel: That's all. I created these cards about 5 years ago and have used them many times since. At every meeting I attend some people have no cards, are "between cards" because they've moved, or have simply run out of cards. When I ask, they apologize, "Sorry, I don't have my cards." I respond, "Oh yes, you do. Here is "your other card." And I hand them the blank card you see above. The card evokes a chuckle and covers the awkward moment, and I always get the contact information I want. Problem solved! If youwould like to get such cards for yourself at very low cost, send an email to loren@conversationmatters.com with "Low Cost Cards" in the subject line and I'll see that you get the information, no strings attached. (Last time I ordered, I believe I paid only $5.00 for 250 cards.) Thank you for subscribing and reading this tip! Until next week's tip, Loren
